Tango

“Tango” – aka Juan Carlos Lizaro was a native lizard from La Cruz who as a youth followed his passion for tango to Argentina to study in the birthplace of the popular dance.  Tango loved the early music of Juan Perez, and to this day has one of the largest record collections of that particular artist. Juan excelled in the Argentinian Tango, and competed extensively across south America.  He also took up the “Spanish Andalusian Tango” and for a brief time danced his way across Latin Europe.  Later when tango hit the USA, Tango was found prancing out some of the new North American Tango tunes.  Juan Carlos is best known for his instrumental role in creating “Tango Argentina” which opened in Paris in the 80’s and then took the world by storm, stimulating a revival of the tango as we know it today.  Tango has now retired in Bucerias, and lives with his long lost cousin Coco (5 times removed).  If you are lucky you may catch one of his tango classes, or see him dancing on the canopy of his golf cart while the stereo croons out some Juan Perez tunes.
