“Skoot” aka Francisco Perez Lararo Valdez is a very skittish Lizard. At the first sign of anything “untoward” he quickly scoots off and disappears into the foliage. Sometimes he is so concerned about what is behind him that that he forgets to look forward to seeing where it is that he was going in the first place. Not a very good skillset when walking on the cobblestone streets and sidewalks of Mexico. The other Banderas Bay Lizards are always telling Skoot, to stop looking back, because “You’re not going that way”…. But on the other hand, Skoot becomes very useful when the question is asked, “Where were we?” Skoot has an almost photographic memory and because he is always looking back has a very different perspective than most everyone else. This focus combined with Skoots’s perchance for storytelling makes him a favorite speaker at elementary schools, family parties, or with a crowd at the beach bar. If you know Skoot, or he knows you, you can be sure there are half a dozen stories that he has about you, all with a twist and recollection different than you have. That is why Skoot is the ‘reverse’ symbol on our rental carts. If you want to find Skoot, get yourself one of those “cannons’ that the Mexicans shoot off before Christmas, use it to make a big bang and then see who hightails it into the greenery. It will most likely be Skoot you will see peering out around the foliage.
