“Flip” aka Jesus Alexandro Hernandez is the most agile of the BBG (Banderas Bay Gang). As a small wiry energetic boy Jesus was always climbing, flipping, spinning etc. and eventually his parents, after prodding from the elementary school gym teacher, enrolled him in gymnastics where he excelled. Being from the small Caribbean island of Tobago, Flip eventually made the national gymnastics team which culminated in competing in the 2000 summer Olympics in Australia. He was beaten out by the Russians, Chinese and Ukrainians, and has to this day maintained that if he wasn’t so green, he would have scored higher and possibly won. After the Olympics, Flip as he was now known joined up with Circus Soleil and traveled for many years until retiring to a Mexican beach town to teach children the art of flipping. You may see Flip on the beach surrounded by children, teaching them how to flip. Flip’s favorite foods are huevos (flipped over easy), or tacos dorado (flipped and crispy).
