The idea for Banderas Bay Carts evolved over the past couple of years as we saw the need all around us for golf carts in Bucerias and Nuevo Vallarta. We managed to purchase an old golf cart a couple of years ago and fixed it up for our own transportation. My wife’s favorite days are when we just drive around exploring the town, waving at the children and observing the color of Mexican life. As volunteers at a local orphanage, we also get to haul a lot of kids around to give them an enjoyable break in their days.
Living in the bay full time has shown us that cars are a bit of a nightmare in Bucerias, unless you have an SUV or truck to navigate the potholes. Parking in Centro is a nightmare for all but small cars, especially during high season. Speed bumps can take out the bottom of your car (3 times for our VW Beetle convertible!). But a golf cart easily navigates through and around.
We are constantly being stopped and asked if we will sell our cart or asked where one can be rented or purchased. Golf carts in Mexico are generally very expensive and used ones are very scarce. So we decided to go into the rental business and take custom orders for golf carts that we personally import from the United States. Thus Banderas Bay Carts is now in full service. We rent only gas golf carts that have the power to climb some of the steep hills that you find in Bucerias. One tank will last for weeks so no need to worry about running out or having to recharge batteries after every use.
So, if you are tired of the long walks from your rented house or condo, are tired of shelling out for taxis when you go out to shop or eat, or just want to expand your horizons by visiting the rest of the town, golf carts are the answer for you.
